It has been another busy day here atound the shop. Getting several more Greenland Paddles finished off, including several built of solid western red cedar. It has been over 3 years since we last offered our Greenland Paddles in solid rather than laminated. As of today, we are once again offering solid construction of our line of Greenland Paddles. All wood is specially selected western red cedar from Vancouver Island, milled and cut to our specs.

The paddle on the left is first stained with several coats of dark stain prior to oiling. Afterwards, all 4 paddles, including the Storm Paddle, second from the left, are then coated with several coats of hand rubbed 100% pure tung oil.

Here is one our Storm Paddles, this one resting up against a brand new Tahe Greenland in carbon fiber that just arrived 2 days ago (1 of 5).

The solid paddles being much less work than our laminated paddles, we are of course able to offer these at a great cost savings. With our laminated paddles selling for $285.00 per paddle, the solid version is a bargain at our introductory price of just $215.00 for a full Greenland paddle and only $200.00 for the Storm Paddle.

So basically that was my day so far, that and shaping a couple more paddles here in the woodshop after doing these photos this afternoon. Got a few more things still to do tonight on the paddles and then it is time to put my feet up and read the latest edition of the Backwoodsman magazine that I picked up a little while ago.
