Ahhh, that's right, I do recall ... fishing on Simpson's Lake and yes
there was a motor attached! It was a great boat...Thx!
As for the Chestnut - what a great gift :) and so many years of pleasure, how does it withstand all that snow and ice in winter?

Different boat. More of a fishing/ motor boat. Handbuilt, HEAVY but great for what he built it for. I'd forgot about that old boat until you mentioned it just now :)

I stand to be corrected! Was the green boat that he built when we were youngsters not also a canoe? I'm recalling a green
"Boat" along with his hand-build red and white surfboard...?

No, this one is the old Chestnut that Mom got him for Father's Day 34 years ago. That was the first canoe he or I ever paddled.
